Two objects with similar dimensions can need very different handling. A piano has a different structure from a safe; a slate pool table has a different dismantling plan from an exercise machine. Start with the exact item and where it sits.

Send photos and any model or weight information you already have. We’ll check whether we can remove it using the available route and equipment before booking. There is no single weight limit or promise that every item can come down every staircase.

Show us the heavy item before trying to move it.

Pianos, safes and slate tables need individual plans. Tell us what you know about the weight and show every part of the way out. We confirm safe handling before accepting the job.

Pianos, organs and instruments

Identify upright, grand or baby grand construction and the floor where it sits. Grand pianos need on-site assessment. Church organs may have building connections that a freestanding keyboard does not. Piano donation depends on an actual receiver, and a piano you’re keeping or selling needs a piano mover; we haul the one you want gone. Smaller musical instruments can be listed with household contents.

Safes and dense cabinets

Send the make and model if you can see it, the size, whether it’s open and empty, and whether it’s bolted to the floor or wall. Tell us if it’s locked; opening it is a job for a locksmith. Stairs and the surface it rolls over matter, so show the way out, and we’ll bring or arrange the equipment the job needs.

Pool tables and game-room equipment

Identify slate versus non-slate tables and show the frame, room and route out. Disposal disassembly is different from moving and reinstalling a table for play. Ping-pong, air hockey, foosball, shuffleboard and poker tables have different tops and folding mechanisms; arcade and pinball cabinets add glass and electronics.

Medical, motorized and unusual items

Hospital beds, massage tables, wheelchairs and scooters: tell us who owns them (rented equipment needs the supplier’s OK before it goes) and about any batteries. Massage chairs and tanning beds are heavy and wired; tanning lamps are handled separately. Drain aquariums first. Kilns, radiators and chandeliers need to be disconnected. Fire extinguishers and similar items are handled separately; ask us.

Show the item and the whole way out.

Send the make/model or any safely visible plate, dimensions if known, full-item photos and views of the route out. Explain floor level, stairs, landings, door turns, gates, loading distance and the surface a truck can legally reach. State whether the item is anchored, plugged in, plumbed or locked.

Do not tip or shift the object to find a label. If a measurement is unsafe to obtain, say so. If the weight is unknown, we may need more information or a visit before agreeing on removal.

Confirm the method before agreeing to the schedule.

The actual equipment, crew, access and receiving requirements must be workable together. A safe with accessible bolts may still need a different plan from one with concealed fasteners. Grand pianos require an on-site review. A loading route that crosses stairs or soft ground cannot be assumed suitable from an item-only photograph.

Disposal dismantling does not include reassembly, tuning, installation or a preservation-quality move to another address. Safes need to be opened and emptied, and live connections disconnected, before pickup. For anything that needs industrial rigging, send photos or call; we’ll tell you what we can take on and how the rest gets handled.

Empty the item and tell us what is connected.

Empty drawers, cabinets or safe contents when safe and appropriate, and settle ownership before disposal. The owner must approve disposal of rented medical equipment or leased machines. Data, batteries, fuel and restricted lamps require separate preparation.

A whole-house cleanout can include a heavy item; just list it separately. The written quote names the heavy item and how it comes out, rather than hiding it inside “everything in the room.”
