Battery rules and clean equipment
Rented or supplier-owned equipment needs return arrangements. Intact lead-acid batteries require separate upright handling; lithium packs need review, and damaged, swollen or flood-exposed lithium needs a specialist battery route first. The equipment must be cleaned and free of medical or bodily-fluid waste. Tell us whether it rolls and whether stairs or a narrow doorway affect loading.
Check rolling and steering without dismantling the battery system
Locked wheels or steering can prevent a scooter from following a simple ramp path. Identify detachable transport sections only where the model supports them, leaving damaged battery equipment alone. Return supplier-owned equipment first. Powered wheelchair removal may involve a different frame even when it serves the same room.
Battery weight and level changes affect loading
A compact scooter can be heavy because of its frame and batteries. Stairs, narrow gates and non-rolling wheels change the equipment needed. Battery chemistry and condition must be settled before loading, with intact lead-acid units separately handled as agreed. Being designed to roll indoors does not make it suitable to roll down steps.
