Junk Removal Planning Guides
Useful photos, simple preparation and the questions to settle before pickup.
You don’t need everything figured out before you contact us. Start with what needs to go, what you’re keeping and a few photos. These guides help with the details.

Trash, bulk and yard pickup where you live
How the free service works in each Lee County jurisdiction, and when hiring a hauler makes sense.
Photograph the full job, not just the biggest item
Start at each room’s doorway for a wide shot, then show large or unusual pieces close up. Include closets, the garage, lanai and outbuildings only when they belong in the removal. State what is inside heavy boxes; a photo cannot distinguish books from empty packaging.
Follow the route out in order: room door, turns, stairs or elevator, gate or pool-cage door and parking. Include floor number, carrying distance, building work windows and the deadline. Appliance and hot-tub model labels help when accessible without moving equipment. A short video can explain a route better than disconnected close-ups.
Keep faces, paperwork, keys and access codes out of estimate photos. Do not disturb hazards or move heavy pieces to get a clearer view. Ordinary junk can stay where it sits for the estimate.
Chemicals, cylinders and unknown containers stay out of the load
Liquid paint, solvents, pool and garden chemicals, fuel, automotive fluids, propane and compressed-gas cylinders and fluorescent lamps go to Lee County’s household chemical drop-off at Topaz Court. Sharps, medical waste, firearms, ammunition and explosives need their own disposal route. Suspected asbestos needs testing and licensed abatement first, and biohazards need a cleanup specialist first. Tell us about loose lithium batteries and any damaged, swollen or flood-exposed lithium items before pickup so we can tell you where they go. Everything else, we’ll haul.
Do not hide excluded items in bags, empty them into drains, mix them or open unknown containers for a photo. Keep people away from a leaking or uncertain material and obtain appropriate specialist guidance.
Lee County’s Household Chemical Waste and Electronics facility page describes chemical drop-off and separate business collection arrangements. Use the county’s current instructions to check your material and eligibility before travelling. Household options are not proof that a commercial removal load is accepted.

You may already have a suitable collection option
Lee County publishes residential bulk-item collection guidance, including furniture and appliances. Check which provider serves your exact address and its current preparation and placement rules. A mailing address alone does not establish the applicable collection program.
Ask a replacement retailer what old-item haul-away covers. Confirm the exact pieces, disconnections, location and timing. A donation organization decides acceptance based on condition, need and space; a usable item is not a guaranteed donation.
If an existing service can take the item and you can safely meet its preparation requirements, you may not need us. Paid removal helps when inside carry-out, stairs, a combined load or coordinated access is the work you need.

Arrange the trade work before the removal crew arrives
Gas connections belong with a licensed gas professional, and hardwired electrical connections with an electrician. Plumbing fixtures must be disconnected by the appropriate professional. A breaker switched off is not the same as a disconnected hot tub. Once the right professional has cut and capped the lines, we take the item out and haul it away.
The limited water-line exceptions are an accessible refrigerator ice-maker line or washer fill hoses at valves that close and hold, with the customer’s approval. Leaking, corroded or missing valves stop that work for a plumber. Plug-in equipment can be unplugged by the crew.
Keep refrigerant systems intact. HVAC equipment needs appropriate professional preparation and documentation before pickup; hauling is not refrigerant recovery. Empty refrigerators and freezers, drain waterbeds and hot tubs, and disclose anything that is not ready.
Get the building’s removal instructions before reserving a date
Ask management about vendor hours, elevator reservations and pads, loading space, garage clearance and any insurance-document requirement. The resident, owner or manager arranges building permission. If your building or property manager requires a certificate of insurance, tell us when you book and we’ll arrange it.
Measure or photograph the path from the unit to loading, including long hallways and stair turns. Describe a service entrance that differs from the resident entrance. If access changes, the handling plan and price need review before changed work proceeds.
Remote cleanouts need one authorized decision-maker
Define the removal room by room, mark a keep zone and identify appliances or fixtures staying with a sale. Complete family collections and any estate sale before agreeing on the final removal list. Access to a property does not itself authorize disposing of another person’s belongings.
Give written permission and share entry instructions privately. Keep one person who can approve decisions reachable for changes and found belongings. Documents, photos, jewelry and other important finds are set aside for a decision; firearms and ammunition remain untouched. If permission to remove an item is disputed, it stays until that is resolved.
Before and after photos document the agreed areas. At completion, the remote contact reviews the cleared space and any exclusions, and the crew follows the agreed lock-up instructions. Broom-swept means loose debris removed, not deep cleaning, repair or sanitizing.
A storage unit needs permission as well as a gate code
Identify the tenant or authorized buyer and the facility’s access requirements. An auction buyer should provide the facility’s sale paperwork; the crew does not decide a lien dispute. Include the clearance deadline, unit floor, elevator, loading position and who opens and secures the unit.
Mark what stays before sorting begins. Photograph heavy items at the back, not just boxes at the door. Personal papers, fuel, chemicals, pests, unknown bags and titled property need separate discussion; a request to empty a unit is not blanket acceptance of everything inside.
