An old hot tub may be on an open patio, behind a narrow gate or surrounded by decking. We can help work out how to get it out. Send a few wide photos of the tub and the way to the truck; you don’t need to figure out the removal method yourself.

Tell us whether it still holds water, how it is connected and what needs to stay around it. We’ll discuss draining, disconnection and any dismantling before agreeing on the job. If it’s on a balcony or needs lifting gear, send photos or call; we’ll tell you what we can take on and how the rest gets handled.

Show the tub and what’s around it.

A drained freestanding hot tub is a different job from a swim spa, built-in bathtub or pool enclosure.

Hot tubs, swim spas and covers

Show the tub from more than one side, with its size, the deck around it and the way to the gate. Drain it and have the power disconnected first. A tub that won’t fit out whole can be cut up for removal; cutting into a deck built around it is a separate conversation. Swim spas get their own plan, and covers and steps can go too.

Above-ground pools and loose equipment

Above-ground pool removal needs draining, electrical preparation and an agreed dismantling plan. Pumps, filters and heaters may have water, wiring or refrigerant connections; have the responsible trade prepare them. Pool chemicals go to Lee County’s household chemical drop-off at Topaz Court (drop-off sites). A pool cage or screen enclosure can come down in the same job as light demolition; show it in your photos.

Saunas and whirlpool bathtubs

Describe a freestanding sauna’s panels, power and location before assuming it can be dismantled. An installed Jacuzzi or whirlpool bathtub can be torn out with its surround once a licensed plumber and electrician have disconnected it. A tub already detached by others still needs weight and material review.

Drain the tub and arrange the electrical disconnect.

Drain the tub before pickup, and check with your city or Lee County about where the water can go on your property. Tell us if water is left in the bottom or the equipment bay, and whether any parts are already disconnected.

The crew can unplug a plug-in tub. A hardwired tub needs a licensed electrician to disconnect the circuit and make the wiring safe before we arrive. A switched-off breaker isn’t enough before any cutting starts; the circuit has to be disconnected. Once it is, we take the tub apart and haul it away.

Measure the opening the tub actually has to leave through.

Measure the narrowest point: the side gate, the screen door or the gap between the house and the fence. A tub that fits leaves whole; one that doesn’t is dismantled on site with your approval. Removing a screen panel is a separate decision that needs your written permission, and putting the screen back is up to you. If the pool cage or screen enclosure is coming down anyway, we can take it down and haul it in the same job; otherwise we plan around it. If the only way out runs through the home’s structure, send photos or call; we’ll tell you what we can take on and how the rest gets handled.

Agree on cutting and on what stays beneath the tub.

List the cover, lifter, steps and loose accessories that should go. Pool and spa chemicals go to Lee County’s household chemical drop-off at Topaz Court (drop-off sites). If there’s a concrete pad, send photos and we’ll tell you how it gets handled. If the deck or platform around the tub is coming out too, include it in the request with photos of how it is attached, and we’ll price it with the tub. The metal frame, motor and pump parts go to recycling when practical; the shell, foam and cabinet go to appropriate disposal.

In Cape Coral, the curb is only an option once it’s cut up.

Cape Coral’s bulk pickup takes a hot tub only if it’s cut into pieces one person can handle, each under 150 pounds and set within 3 feet of the road on your garbage day. That leaves the draining, cutting, carrying and cleanup to you. If you’d rather hand that off, see hot tub removal in Cape Coral; for other bulk items there, see the Cape Coral bulk pickup guide.

Send a short sequence instead of one close-up.

Photograph the entire spa, its position beside the house or deck, the proposed exit and the path to loading. Include approximate dimensions if safely known. A short video can help explain a turn that still photographs conceal.

Show covers, steps and loose equipment you want removed. List patio furniture or other outdoor items separately. For a different water structure, the above-ground pool guide addresses pool walls, liners and connected equipment without assuming the same removal method.

What affects a hot tub removal estimate?

The size of the tub (a two-person spa or a swim spa), whether it’s drained and disconnected, whether it leaves whole or has to be cut apart, and the route to the truck: a wide driveway or a narrow side gate and a long walk. A cover, steps, a deck or an enclosure coming out at the same time add to the job. If photos don’t show enough, a free walkthrough is available. If a new spa or patio project is waiting on the removal, tell us the date; same-day and next-day removal may be available, depending on the schedule and the job.

We agree on the work and a written price before starting. If the job changes, we explain the new work and price and get your written approval before continuing. Pricing explains what affects the price and what happens if the job changes. Our hot tub removal cost guide explains how each of those factors changes the price.
