Estero is a Village; its waste service runs through Lee County
An Estero removal request often starts with a simple household decision: replace a sofa, clear a room or prepare a property for the next stay. Before hiring help, check the service already available. The Village’s waste-disposal page directs garbage, recycling and yard-waste questions to Lee County.
For an individual household, county curbside service includes bulky furniture and appliances. At a condo or managed property, ask management where bulky items belong and how collection is arranged. A public collection truck coming to the property does not explain how a sofa gets from your unit to that collection point.

Make the vendor entrance and elevator reservation part of one plan
The scheduling problem can be the route through a managed property rather than the number of items. If your home has a gate, condo management or shared loading, ask for the actual vendor instructions early. A reserved elevator, approved vendor access and a practical loading location need to fit the same visit.
Questions for the association or property manager
Use your own building’s instructions instead of another Estero community’s rules. A resident code can open one gate while vendors are directed to a different entrance.
- Which entrance and loading space should a removal truck use?
- Does the crew need an entry-list registration, and what are the permitted work hours?
- Does the service elevator need a reservation or pads, and will the furniture fit?
- Does the building require a certificate of insurance? If so, tell us when you book and we’ll arrange it.
Follow the furniture all the way to the loading space
Include hallway turns, garage height restrictions and any long walk after the elevator. A large recliner may be simple to move through the unit but awkward at a narrow service door. Leave shared corridors clear while the plan is arranged. Use recliner removal for the chair’s handling and condo cleanouts for the building arrangements.
Decide what stays before closing a seasonal home
A manager’s ability to open the property and an owner’s decision to discard furniture are different things. Leave a room-by-room list for the removal, including stored patio cushions, garage contents or a lanai piece that otherwise looks like part of the furnishings. Mark keeps clearly and have someone reachable for a question about an unlisted item. Seasonal-home planning covers entry and lock-up; downsizing help covers belongings going to the next home.
Consider a donation pickup when usable furniture is leaving
Habitat ReStore’s free residential pickup currently requires two to three large furniture or appliance items and ground-level access or an elevator the items fit in. Confirm the pieces and collection window with ReStore before arranging your departure. A single damaged chair or a stair-only unit may call for another option.
County collection is useful when the accepted item can reach its collection point. We handle the carry-out and the agreed mix of items, including belongings that are not donation candidates. The pricing guide explains the estimate once, so you can focus here on the building and the furniture that actually needs to leave.
