If you’re away from your Lee County home, you can still arrange removal of an old sofa, unused appliances or belongings you no longer need. Send current photos or ask a local contact to help show the rooms. We work from written instructions about what goes and what stays.
The property may have changed since your last visit. A new gate procedure, moved furniture or storm exposure can affect the pickup, so current information matters. This guide is for a home you’re keeping; removal is not a property inspection, remediation visit or ongoing home-watch service.
Planning your seasonal home junk removal
Arrange the pickup while away, using current photos and clear entry instructions.
- Before pickup
- Provide a current item list and marked photos of what stays.
- Where it is and how to reach it
- Private keys/codes, alarm instructions and a local access contact if needed.
- Useful photos
- Current included areas, item condition and loading route.
- What affects the quote
- What is going, the way out and any changes you approve.
- Who can approve the removal
- Provide written removal instructions from the owner or person entitled to approve the work, and someone reachable for changes.

Use a current view of the rooms.
Arrange a local person or video walkthrough when old photographs leave uncertainty. Identify every room or lanai included and describe odors, dampness or storm damage before acceptance. A removal request is not a condition inspection or permission to enter an unsafe property.
For storm-affected material, see storm-debris guidance. That separate assessment should happen before damaged contents are mixed into an ordinary furniture list.
Keep one person available to approve changes.
The authorized owner or representative supplies written keep/remove instructions and remains reachable during the work. Share access details privately, identify alarm procedures and explain how the property should be secured afterward.
If the actual load differs, extra work requires written approval. Before-and-after photos document the agreed cleared areas and lock-up; they do not certify that every system in the home is sound.
Complete the remote approval while the crew is still there.
Arrange a reachable contact for that completion review.
For a condo, combine this plan with building-access guidance. A property between guest stays belongs in the vacation-rental guide, where guest and turnover windows add another constraint.
