A favorite chair, a cabinet full of family photographs, the table everyone grew up around: deciding what fits in the next home can take more than a tape measure. Start with the things you want to bring. Then set aside anything promised to family before deciding what you’d like us to remove.
A downsizing pickup can cover a few pieces or the agreed contents left after a move. You can still be living in the home when we collect the unwanted pieces. You make the decisions; we help with carrying out the things you’ve chosen to let go.
If the belongings are in a managed residence, senior-living move-out guidance explains permission, building entry and returning rented medical equipment.

One removal list, even when several people are helping.
Identify the person who owns the belongings or can authorize their disposal. Family members can help sort and coordinate, but conflicting instructions need to be settled before loading. An organizer, relative or building contact should know which decisions they can make.
Use room names and photographs for the removal list. A loose label can fall off; a written list should still distinguish two similar chairs or matching bedroom pieces. Keep documents, jewelry, medication and personal keepsakes separate from the things being removed. Do not rely on the crew to find every important object hidden in furniture.
Let family pick up their pieces before the final cleanout.
A promised collection can leave a large piece in the house after the moving truck has gone. Confirm who will collect it, when and how. If that plan changes, tell us before adding the piece to the removal list.
Donation is also conditional. A usable item may not meet a receiving organization’s requirements or fit its available capacity. Do not schedule your property handover on the assumption that everything will be accepted. The furniture guide explains how condition and access affect the removal itself.
Keep moving day and removal day from working against each other.
Explain whether the next-home furniture will already be gone or still needs protected space in the house. Identify the mover’s boxes, appliances that stay and building fixtures. We handle removal, not the move to your next home. Arrange packing, moving the belongings you’re keeping and setting up the new place with the appropriate provider.
For a condo or retirement residence, obtain the actual vendor access instructions from management. Include elevator reservations, loading areas and the time someone can admit the crew. Every building sets its own rules, so we go by the instructions you get from management.
Helping Mom or Dad from out of town?
Written permission, entry instructions and a reachable contact can support a remote pickup. Photograph the approved removal areas and the items staying. Completion photographs can help the authorized person review what was cleared.
If pictures can’t explain everything, a free walkthrough can help us talk through the job. The process guide explains approval before loading. Removal leaves the agreed area broom-clean; arranging the next residence, deep cleaning and property repairs remain separate tasks.
