Trash, bulk and yard pickup in Bonita Springs
Bonita Springs uses Lee County’s collection system, not a city program: the City’s solid-waste page sends you to Lee County Solid Waste, and Waste Management collects in Bonita’s ZIP codes (34134 and 34135, 239-334-1224). The county’s unlimited weekly trash pickup and as-needed bulky-item pickup apply.

What the county rules mean on your street
Trash goes out once a week with no limit on the amount, in 40-gallon cans of 50 pounds or less, by 5:30 a.m. and within 6 feet of the road. Bulky items such as furniture and household appliances are picked up as needed (call the hauler for an appliance). Yard waste goes in 50-pound bundles no longer than 6 feet, unbagged. The unincorporated Lee County guide has the full county detail.

Chemicals and electronics
The county’s household chemical collection events include a Bonita Springs site at 26740 Pine Ave; check the county’s schedule for the next date. Otherwise, Topaz Court in Fort Myers (6441 Topaz Ct) takes chemicals free and recycles computers and TVs, about 15 miles north.

Condos, gated communities and the season
Much of Bonita is condos and HOAs, where the property manager arranges collection for buildings of five or more units. Many residents are seasonal, so clear-outs tend to cluster around arrivals and departures, and gated communities need a Right of Entry form on file for storm debris collection.

When a private haul makes sense in Bonita Springs
Usually when the HOA won’t allow bulk to sit at the curb, when a condo cleanout needs an elevator and a vendor window, when a seasonal home has to be cleared before you head north, or when it’s a hot tub or remodel debris the curb won’t take.
