We haul away old refrigerators and freezers from kitchens, garages and condos across Fort Myers and Lee County. We carry them out from where they sit, so you don’t have to drag anything to the driveway. Empty it, tell us whether it has an ice-maker water line, and send a photo of the fridge and the way out for a free estimate.

One fridge on its own, or with other appliances and junk in the same trip: list everything that’s going and it’s priced together. For washers, ranges and the rest, see appliance removal.

Tell us what kind of fridge it is

Top-freezer, side-by-side, French-door, compact or built-in: each carries differently. Rough measurements help if you know them, but don’t pull a heavy fridge out to find the label; a photo of where it sits is better. Tell us whether it works and whether anything is still inside, and list a separate chest or upright freezer as its own item.

Empty it, and tell us about the water line

Take out the food and drinks, including the freezer, and let any ice melt. If spoiled food makes that hard, tell us first; emptying it is extra work we agree on beforehand.

If there’s an ice-maker line and a working shutoff valve you can reach, the crew can close the valve and disconnect the line at the fridge with your approval, then check for drips. If the valve leaks, is corroded or won’t close, a plumber needs to fix it first; then we take the fridge out. Keep the sealed cooling system intact.

The way out matters most

Photograph the space in front of the fridge, the kitchen doorway, any hallway turns and stairs. If the kitchen has changed since the fridge was delivered (a new island, raised flooring, a different door), say so; a route that worked years ago may not now. A standard hinged door can usually be taken off and put back when needed, with your OK. Doorframes and trim are a different matter.

Built-in and panel-ready units have to be released from the cabinetry first. In a condo, tell us the service entrance, elevator arrangements and where the truck can load.

What changes the price

Size and weight, stairs and the distance to the truck, whether it’s freestanding or built in, and anything else going in the same trip. You get one written price before we start, and anything added on the day is priced with you first. If the way out is unclear from photos, we can do a free walkthrough. See how pricing works.

Retailer haul-away or public pickup?

If a new fridge is being delivered, ask the retailer what its haul-away covers: disconnecting the water line, stairs, and which old unit it takes. If it covers everything, use it. Lee County and the cities also collect appliances at the curb if you can get the fridge out there safely; our disposal guide has the rules for each area. We’re the answer when it’s still inside, when the retailer won’t take it, or when other things are going too.

Can it be donated?

Sometimes. A newer, working, rust-free fridge may be accepted by a charity (see the donation question below), but the charity decides, so confirm with them first. If it isn’t accepted, we’ll remove it.

For a rental or a family member’s home, send written permission and access details and someone we can reach. We can send photos of the empty space once the fridge is gone.
