We haul away pottery and glass kilns, from small electric tabletop units to large studio kilns. Have an electrician or gas professional disconnect it, let it cool completely, and take out the shelves and posts. Then send photos of the kiln, its stand and the way out, and tell us its size.
Size, stand and the way out
A small electric kiln is a manageable carry. A large studio or gas kiln is heavy, and the brick lining adds more weight than people expect. Show the stand it sits on, the doorways and any stairs between it and the driveway. If the insulation inside is crumbling, don’t scrape or break it out to save weight; show it to us as it is and we’ll work out a safe plan before anything moves.
What goes with it, and what doesn’t
Shelves, posts, the stand, a separate control box or vent, and the studio’s ordinary furniture and tools can all go in the same trip; list them so they’re in the estimate. Glazes, raw glaze chemicals and other studio chemicals don’t go in a junk load. Lee County takes household chemicals from residents at its Topaz Court drop-off. A whole studio can be cleared as a garage or workshop cleanout.
What changes the price
