A whole house can feel like a lot to take on. You don’t need to guess a truckload or have every room perfectly sorted before you contact us. Start with a walk through the rooms and storage areas you want help clearing, and show us what needs to stay.
Include closets, the garage, shed and any other spaces in the request. We can talk through the order of the work and agree on separate visits when that helps. A big house can take more than one day, and we’ll plan that with you up front. Chemicals and other hazardous materials stay out of the load; we’ll point you to where they go.
Planning your whole-house cleanout
Several rooms to clear, with fixtures that stay and the option to book separate visits.
- Before pickup
- List rooms, closets and outbuildings; identify kept and conveying items.
- Where it is and how to reach it
- Parking, stairs, utilities and access to each included space.
- Useful photos
- Wide room views, cupboards and storage areas, plus heavy or unusual items.
- What affects the quote
- Total contents, directed sorting, weight and number of workable phases.

Include closed doors in the estimate.
Photos of furnished rooms do not show cupboards, closets and other stored contents. Explain what is inside and which areas remain unreviewed. Dense books, tools, wet materials and unusually heavy items affect work differently from furniture volume.
Large or unclear jobs may need a video or on-site visit. Do not treat a price based on visible rooms as permission to add the shed or attic later without discussing the added work and price.
Mark what belongs to the house and what belongs to the load.
Identify appliances or fixtures staying with a sale, landlord-owned property and family keeps. Use marked photos or a separate keep zone and one decision contact. Personal documents, photographs and other important belongings found during work are flagged for instructions.
Hazards, active contamination and unsafe structures can require specialist preparation or prevent acceptance. A whole-house pickup does not include remediation, trade work or structural demolition.
Clear the areas that are ready.
A family can approve some rooms for removal while others still need decisions. Agree on the areas included in each visit instead of leaving the crew to guess. Each visit is booked as its own job.
If permission and family decisions are the main concern, use estate cleanouts or help with inherited property. If movers are taking most belongings first, move-out planning fits that sequence better. For a cleanout your family wants to load over several weeks, a dumpster rental may suit you better; our guide compares dumpster rental and junk removal.
What a cleared house looks like
Completion means removal of the agreed contents and a broom-clean work area. Deep cleaning, repairs, paint and property-sale readiness remain separate. Before-and-after photographs show the work completed, not a building inspection.
List any separately rented storage through the storage-unit guide; the facility’s entry rules and permission to empty the unit must be arranged separately.
