E-waste pickup in Fort Myers and Lee County.
Old TVs, computers, monitors, printers and the box of cables: our own crew carries them out of any room and hauls them away, with electronics kept separate from the rest of the load. Text photos of the pile, call, or fill out the free estimate form for a fast price you approve before we schedule.
The short version
E-Waste & Electronics Recycling at a glance.
- What it is
- Carry-out and haul-away for TVs, computers, monitors, printers and other electronics in Fort Myers and Lee County, with electronics kept separate from the rest of the load.
- What’s included
- TVs (flat-screen, tube, rear-projection), computers and monitors
- Printers, copiers, networking and audio equipment
- Small electronics, cables, chargers and battery backups
- Carry-out from anywhere in the home, no curb staging needed
- Electronics kept separate from general junk on the truck
- How pricing works
- Priced by volume and count, with tube and rear-projection TVs priced for their weight and handling. Every job has a $99 minimum. Remove or wipe drives first, or use a certified data-destruction provider; then we haul the hardware.
Electronics jobs come in a few shapes. A single tube TV that two people have to wrestle down the stairs. A home office: a tower, two monitors, a printer and a tangle of cords. The closet or garage shelf where years of TVs, routers, laptops and chargers have piled up. Or an office retiring a room of equipment at once. Each one is a carry-out job first: the weight is awkward rather than heavy, and an old console or rear-projection set is bigger than it looks in the photo.
Our crew carries everything out from wherever it sits, so nothing has to be staged at the curb. We keep electronics separate from the rest of the load, and working gear in good shape can be donated when a local organization accepts it.
One step comes first: data. If a computer, phone or drive holds anything you care about, remove or wipe the drive before pickup, or have a certified data-destruction provider handle it. Then we haul the hardware. Our hard drive guide covers how to get a drive out.
If you’d rather handle a few pieces yourself, Lee County recycles computers, printers, scanners, TVs and monitors. In county service areas they go at the curb next to (not in) your garbage, or residents can take them to the county’s Topaz Court facility free (drop-off sites). When it’s a whole pile, a heavy set or stairs, that’s the call we’re here for.
Who calls us
Who usually calls us for this.
Households clearing out the electronics corner: the closet, the garage shelf, the space behind the entertainment center where old TVs, a dead desktop, routers and a crate of cables have collected. People who don’t want to load a 150-pound tube TV into their own car.
Home offices and small businesses retiring monitors, towers, printers, copiers, phone systems and networking gear during an upgrade or a move. When the whole office is going, furniture included, we price it as one job.
Downsizers, families handling an estate, and landlords who’ve ended up with a unit’s worth of electronics. Often this rides along with a larger cleanout; the electronics are kept separate from the rest of the load on the same truck. See estate cleanouts when the whole house is involved.
How we do it
How the job works.
Text photos of everything that’s going: one wide shot of the pile, plus close-ups of any tube or rear-projection TV, copier or server rack, and the way out (stairs, elevator, long hallway). The photo should show the screen size and the back of each TV, since a tube set and a flat-screen of the same size are very different jobs. Text a photo for a fast price, call, or get your free estimate online. Large or mixed jobs can get a free walkthrough.
You approve the price before we schedule. On the day, the crew arrives with dollies and straps and carries everything out; there’s no need to drag the old console TV to the driveway. On a mixed job, we keep the electronics separate from the general junk as we load. If anything changes on site, we price the change with you first.
Pull or wipe any drives before we arrive. You don’t need to be home if the crew can reach the electronics: settle written permission, how we get in, and a clear list of what goes and what stays in advance.
What we take
What we take, and what needs a different route.
What we haul in this category
- Televisions: flat-screen, tube (CRT) and rear-projection
- Desktop computers, laptops, servers and towers
- Monitors, keyboards, mice and peripherals
- Printers, copiers, scanners and fax machines
- Networking gear: routers, switches, modems and cabling
- Audio and stereo equipment, speakers and receivers
- Phones, tablets, gaming consoles and small electronics
- Cables, chargers, power strips and the box of miscellaneous tech
- UPS battery backups and surge protectors
What needs a different route
- Drives with data: remove or wipe them before pickup, or have a certified data-destruction provider handle them first; then we haul the hardware
- Refrigerators, washers, dryers and stoves: book them as appliance removal and they can go on the same visit
- Loose rechargeable and lithium batteries: Lee County recycles them free for residents at its Topaz Court facility. Tell us about any swollen or damaged battery when you send photos
- Industrial or medical equipment with regulated parts: send photos or call, and we’ll tell you how it gets handled
Pricing
How pricing works on these jobs.
Electronics price by volume and count, plus the weight and handling of the heavy pieces. A laptop, a monitor and a printer is a small load. A garage of tube TVs, monitors and old office equipment is a bigger one. Tube (CRT) and rear-projection TVs are heavy and awkward, so they price differently than a flat-screen of the same size, and stairs or a long carry add time.
Every job has a $99 minimum. Single pieces have published starting prices on their own pages, such as computer pickup and monitor disposal. See how pricing works.
If the pile turns out bigger than the photos showed, we price the extra with you before loading it. For one or two small devices, a free county drop-off at Topaz Court may make more sense, and we’ll tell you so.
Handle the data first
We haul the hardware once the data is handled. If a computer, phone or external drive holds anything sensitive, remove the drive and keep it, or wipe it, before pickup. For business equipment that needs documented sanitization, a certified data-destruction provider handles that step, and we haul the hardware afterward.
The simple rule: if losing the data would matter, take the drive out first. On most desktops it’s a few minutes with a screwdriver, and it settles the question.
Your options for old electronics in Lee County
To donate: Goodwill Southwest Florida accepts flat-screen TVs, computers, monitors, printers and household electronics in working condition, but not older tube TVs. Test them before donating. Neither Goodwill nor Habitat’s ReStore takes tube TVs.
To recycle it yourself: Lee County recycles computers, printers and copiers, scanners, TVs and monitors: set them at the curb next to (not in) your garbage in county service areas, or take them to Topaz Court. Rechargeable batteries, including lithium-ion, are recycled free for residents there too. The county’s electronics recycling skips keyboards, mice, remotes, cables, modems and routers; the county says those go with regular household garbage.
To have it carried out: when it’s heavy, it’s a pile, or it’s upstairs, text us photos. We carry it out, keep the electronics separate from the rest of the load, and haul it away. Working gear in good shape can be donated when a local organization accepts it.
