We collect old desktops, laptops, monitors and agreed peripherals from homes and offices. Identify the complete equipment group, including cables or separate drives that are leaving, and keep devices still in use apart.
Data preparation comes before physical removal. Back up needed information and arrange appropriate erasure or drive removal through the responsible person or IT provider. Our crew does not power on computers, access files or provide certified data destruction.

A monitor may be a display or the whole computer.
A conventional desktop has a separate tower, while an all-in-one stores its computer behind the screen. Laptops, docking stations and external drives also need to be identified individually. This prevents an apparently spare monitor or small box of accessories from leaving with information you meant to keep.
Group ordinary cables and peripherals without mixing retained devices into the load. Inventory photos should keep passwords and records out of view. Separate televisions and large printers or copiers from the computer count.
Finish the information handover before the equipment handover.
Have the owner confirm which devices go, and back up, wipe or remove the drives first. For medical, legal and financial businesses, drives must be removed or the customer must certify their destruction before collection.
Keep that decision separate from clearing office furniture. Pickup and completion photographs document physical removal; they do not verify data destruction or provide a chain-of-custody certificate.
Battery damage needs a separate route.
An intact small built-in laptop battery can remain with the electronics. A swollen, damaged or flood-exposed lithium pack is outside ordinary pickup; do not charge, open or dismantle it to prepare for collection. Describe cracked screens and loose sharp components before handling.
Leave ordinary computer cases closed. Installed racks and connected business systems need their release coordinated separately; the removal crew does not perform IT decommissioning.
Compare self-delivery with carry-out from the property.
Lee County’s household electronics program includes computer equipment. Confirm current preparation and drop-off instructions, and complete data handling before releasing a device. A household collection option should not be assumed to cover a business inventory on the same terms.
Our service handles the physical carry and collection of prepared items. It is useful when a room of equipment, stairs or a larger cleanout makes self-transport impractical. Receiving requirements still determine the appropriate route for the actual equipment.
Equipment count and building access affect the estimate.
A single laptop and a floor of desktop stations require different carrying, sorting and loading. Monitor dimensions, towers, separate stands and heavy peripherals account for the physical load. Elevators, loading-dock access and permitted work hours shape an office pickup.
Label retained equipment clearly and identify the person who can approve the final list. Avoid packing important drives or records into general junk boxes simply to empty the room faster.

- Lee County recycles computers, printers and copiers, scanners, TVs and monitors, set at the curb next to (not in) your garbage in county service areas, or dropped off at Topaz Court. Erase your personal data first; the county doesn’t provide paper shredding. Source: Lee County Solid Waste: Topaz Court facility
- Lee County’s electronics recycling doesn’t take keyboards, mice, remotes, cables, modems and routers; the county says those go with regular household garbage. Source: Lee County Solid Waste: Topaz Court facility
- Goodwill Southwest Florida accepts flat-screen TVs, computers, monitors, printers and household electronics in working condition, but not older tube TVs. Test them before donating. Source: Goodwill Southwest Florida: donation guide
