Countertop removal depends on the surface material, connections and whether the top must remain intact. Show laminate, solid surface, granite, quartz, marble or another material before requesting a dismantling price.
Preparation before the top is lifted
Sinks, plumbing and connected appliances must be properly disconnected before the agreed removal work. Identify backsplashes, glued joints, cabinet attachments and the path through the room. Cabinet repair, wall patching and replacement installation are separate work.
Stone needs a specific lifting plan
Granite and marble need planned crew handling; long stone pieces may need an A-frame. Breaking an approved granite top under protective blankets is considered only with the customer's agreement. Quartz is carried whole: our crew does not cut it. For concrete tops or tile set in mortar, send photos so we can plan the weight.
Sink openings and joints affect how a top can be supported
A long top can have narrow material around a sink cutout and glued joints that change its strength when lifted. Identify the sink, backsplash and cabinet parts staying in place. Do not cut stone to make it fit: OSHA explains the silica-dust hazard from cutting and grinding. Sink and vanity removal covers the wider prepared assembly.
Material and full slab dimensions determine carrying work
Laminate, solid wood and stone can share dimensions but differ greatly in weight. Long rigid slabs, fragile cutouts, attachments and stairs affect support and the exit route. If you want the top saved in one piece, tell us before we start. Cabinet alteration, utility release and finish repairs are separate from hauling.
Curbside rules for countertop differ across Lee County
- Cape Coral: construction debris isn’t collected, and the drop-off site won’t take it.
- Estero: fewer than 2 cubic yards a week.
- Sanibel: up to 2 cubic yards per pickup if the work didn’t need a permit.
From each jurisdiction’s official collection pages, checked October 13, 2026. We carry it out from wherever it sits, anywhere in Lee County.
