We remove toilets only after plumbing preparation is complete. The water supply must be off and disconnected, and the drain opening must be safely plugged or capped for the agreed work.
Prepare the fixture and the route
Arrange the plumbing work before pickup, including shutoffs and any reconnection. Show whether the toilet is still secured to the floor or already detached, and disclose broken porcelain, residue and upstairs access. Keep sharp fragments contained. Include tank, bowl and any separately removed parts in the request.
Identify a tank, bowl and powered seat separately
A two-piece toilet can leave as more than one carrying piece, and a smart seat adds an electrical connection to the plumbing preparation. Identify any controls or hardware you are keeping. Leave cracked porcelain supported and disclose damage. Other prepared bathroom fixtures should be listed separately from the toilet.
Porcelain condition and bathroom access affect handling
One-piece fixtures can be heavier to carry intact than separate tank-and-bowl assemblies. Residual water, sharp cracks, stairs and a tight doorway change containment and lifting. Safe supply and drain preparation comes first. Removal does not include repairing a flange, changing a shutoff or reconnecting the replacement fixture.
