An office-chair request can mean one broken task chair or several floors of surplus seating. The useful estimate starts with a count and a location list. A photo of the first row does not show whether matching chairs behind desks or in a store room are also leaving.

Fort Myers Junk Removal reviews office seating as furniture removal. Identify wheeled task chairs, guest chairs and larger executive seating separately where their size or condition differs. Building access can matter more than the distance between the chairs.

Planning your office chair removal

Single chairs and counted batches; unstable bases and mixed seating need disclosure.

Before pickup
  • Mark the chairs leaving and remove personal belongings from the area.
  • Describe broken casters, loose bases or damaged upholstery.
Where it is and how to reach it
  • Room/floor locations, elevator reservation and vendor check-in.
  • Dock availability, garage clearance and the carry from each room.
Useful photos
  • Wide view of every group plus counts by location.
  • Representative chair and damaged bases; loading and elevator route.
What affects the quote
  • Confirmed count, chair sizes and collection from multiple rooms.
  • Stairs, building windows and carry distance.

Count the chairs in each room.

List the number in each office, meeting room or storage area. Photograph any overflow rather than assuming the same count is repeated throughout the building. Include visitor chairs or stools if they are part of the job.

When some chairs stay, use a clear marked list or keep zone. The crew should not have to decide whether a chair still beside a desk is surplus or belongs to someone working there. Changes to the approved count or location are reviewed before additional work.

Wheels do not guarantee a clear rolling route.

Tell us about broken bases, missing casters and chairs that cannot stay upright. A row of intact wheeled chairs and a pile of damaged components need different handling. Do not disassemble chair mechanisms simply to make the load appear smaller for a quote.

Loose parts should be identified with the chair they came from when possible. If upholstery has pests or contamination, disclose the condition before scheduling so acceptance and preparation can be reviewed.

One loading plan can serve several offices.

Give us the permitted work hours, elevator reservations, loading location and any management approval requirements. A parking garage may not provide usable truck access even when ordinary cars can reach the floor. Long hallways and repeated elevator trips belong in the estimate.

If chairs are being replaced during an occupied-office day, identify the areas available to the crew and who can resolve a question. After-hours work is by arrangement; a requested deadline or building window is not a confirmed appointment.

Keep furniture removal separate from office data.

Chairs can be included with cubicle systems or office furniture, but identify desks, electronics and storage cabinets separately. An instruction to “clear the chairs” does not authorize taking nearby equipment or employee belongings.

If filing cabinets are also leaving, they must be empty and unlocked; the filing-cabinet guide explains records preparation. Donation of usable chairs is not guaranteed, and removal is not delivery of replacement furniture.

Curbside rules for office chair differ across Lee County

  • Fort Myers: weekly bulk pickup up to 4 cubic yards, often on a different day from trash.
  • Cape Coral: same day as trash, within 3 feet of the road, nothing over 150 pounds.
  • Fort Myers Beach: free WM special pickup; not at the curb more than 24 hours early.
  • Sanibel: sofas, chairs and mattresses go out with regular garbage.
  • Unincorporated Lee County: picked up as needed; set out like garbage, within 6 feet of the road.
