Fort Myers Junk Removal removes one standard bookcase in Lee County, starting at $99.
Starting at $99
One standard bookcase
- Included
- Labor, lifting/loading, haul-away, transportation, and standard disposal/recycling fees for the described item
- What changes the price
- Size/weight, quantity, pickup access
- Add-on charges
- Quoted before work for unusual access, extra-heavy/oversized handling, disassembly, or non-standard disposal when applicable
A full shelf can look like one furniture item while containing many boxes’ worth of dense paper. Empty the bookcase before pickup and say whether the books are staying, being collected separately or included in the removal.
The furniture itself also needs a clear description: a freestanding case, linked units and fitted wall shelving are different jobs. Photographs should show the full height and surrounding space, not only the shelf fronts.
Planning your bookcase removal
Tall storage furniture; contents and attachments must be assessed separately.
- Before pickup
- Empty shelves and drawers; identify books or boxes included in the job.
- Where it is and how to reach it
- Ceiling clearance and hallway turns for tall cases.
- Stairs and space to work around the unit.
- Useful photos
- Full case, visible joints and any accessible wall attachments.
- Separate book/box quantities and route out.
- What affects the quote
- Dense contents, cabinet construction and dismantling.
- Tall-item stair turns and carry distance.
Do not hide the weight in the cabinet.
Books, files and magazines affect load weight even when they occupy little space. Show the quantity separately and avoid packing boxes beyond what you can safely handle. There is no need to move loaded boxes outside for an estimate.
Business files are not ordinary mixed paper. Secure confidential records and arrange any required destruction separately. The filing-cabinet guide explains why furniture removal does not include records destruction.
Straps, wall anchors and built-in units
Tell us whether the case has a safety anchor, is joined to adjacent units or forms part of built-in cabinetry. Anchored or built-in furniture requires review before acceptance. Show the surrounding trim, electrical fittings and structure in your photos; we’ll tell you what we can take on and how the rest gets handled.
Leave a tall case stable until the plan is agreed. Pulling it forward to expose fasteners can create a tipping problem. Photos of accessible connections and an explanation of how it was installed are enough to begin.
Plan for long panels as well as the assembled case.
Ordinary furniture disassembly can help where intact carry-out is impractical. Long side panels and shelves still need room through doorways and on landings. Tell us about damaged joints or swollen material rather than assuming the unit can be lifted as one sound piece.
If several bedroom pieces are leaving, use the bedroom-set guide. A tall armoire has related turning questions, but glass doors, mirrors and its construction may change the plan.
