Deflation and powered components
If you can safely deflate an ordinary air bed, use its normal valve rather than cutting the cover. Unplug the pump and identify any battery or damaged electrical part. Keep bedding and equipment you want to retain apart from the removal; disclose wetness or contamination before handling.
Keep an air bed separate from medical pressure equipment
A deflated camping mattress, a raised air bed with legs and a pressure-relief system are different loads. Leave integrated pumps attached; a deflated cover can conceal wiring and hard components. Deflated bulk and attached equipment determine the load
For an ordinary air bed, the main factors are the number of mattresses and whether a pump, rigid frame or other camping gear goes with them. A compact deflated mattress takes less space than one left inflated. Moisture or a damaged electrical component changes preparation; opening the cover or removing a sealed pump is unnecessary.

- Fort Myers: weekly bulk pickup up to 4 cubic yards, often on a different day from trash.
- Cape Coral: same day as trash, within 3 feet of the road, nothing over 150 pounds.
