We haul away lumber and scrap wood: leftover boards, old decking and fence pickets, plywood and project offcuts. Tell us roughly how much there is and whether it has nails, paint or treatment on it.
Show the ends and what is attached
Describe long boards, pallets, plywood offcuts, treated timbers and pieces with projecting nails or screws. Do not hide sharp scrap in ordinary trash bags. Keep chemicals, liquid finishes and suspected contaminated material out of the pile. If the wood is still installed, ask about our light demolition work; we also check we can haul from your address.
Keep building wood distinct from vegetation
Painted boards, plywood, treated timber and fastener-filled offcuts do not belong in a description of clean branches. Set aside usable straight lengths before removal and keep projecting nails visible. A pile of firewood or logs has different material and loading questions from an old deck’s framing.
Length, fasteners and heavy timbers affect the load
Long boards can be awkward through gates and around corners even when the total pile is small. Thick timbers add weight; nails and splintered edges affect carrying and stacking. Separate loose prepared lumber from installed structural pieces, and identify mixed plywood, metal or roofing material rather than describing everything as scrap wood.
Curbside rules for lumber and scrap wood differ across Lee County
- Cape Coral: construction debris isn’t collected, and the drop-off site won’t take it.
- Estero: fewer than 2 cubic yards a week.
- Sanibel: up to 2 cubic yards per pickup if the work didn’t need a permit.
From each jurisdiction’s official collection pages, checked October 13, 2026. We carry it out from wherever it sits, anywhere in Lee County.
Dumpster or junk removal?
If you’re doing the tear-out yourself over several days, a roll-off dumpster you load as you go can make more sense. If the debris is already piled up, our crew loads it and hauls it away in one visit. Dumpster rental vs. junk removal compares cost and effort side by side.
Where it can go in Lee County
If you’d rather handle some of it yourself, or it’s still worth giving away, these are the local options. Each organization decides what it accepts, so check with them before you load the car.
- Habitat’s ReStore accepts full-sheet drywall, lumber 6 feet or longer, plywood, trim, bricks, blocks and pavers. It doesn’t take cut or used wood, paint or materials left outdoors. Goodwill doesn’t take building materials. Sources: Habitat for Humanity of Lee and Hendry Counties: accepted donations; Goodwill Southwest Florida: donation guide
