We remove bed-bug-affected mattresses when the required preparation is complete. Disclose the condition before scheduling so containment and the affected bed components are part of the plan.
Wrapping and our handling policy
We require complete double wrapping in heavy-duty plastic, with seams, edges and openings sealed before arrival. The disclosed bed-bug handling fee is $75. If the condition was not disclosed beforehand, the handling fee is $175 and the company may decline the item depending on readiness and conditions. These are handling charges, not an extermination service or a guarantee of acceptance. The crew checks readiness visually without opening the wrapping.
Plan the affected components as one contained removal
Identify the mattress, box spring and upholstered bed parts that are leaving before preparation starts. Their removal should not require opening a wrapped mattress to find hardware or belongings. Containment is additional to the mattress carrying work
The stated bed-bug handling charges apply alongside the actual removal scope. Mattress size, the number of affected components, stairs and common-area access still determine the carry. A sealed mattress must remain contained along that path. Tell us if wrapping is damaged or the condition changes before arrival so the crew can decide whether the planned pickup is ready.
Curbside rules for bed bug mattress differ across Lee County
- Fort Myers: weekly bulk pickup up to 4 cubic yards, often on a different day from trash.
- Cape Coral: same day as trash, within 3 feet of the road, nothing over 150 pounds.
- Fort Myers Beach: free WM special pickup; not at the curb more than 24 hours early.
- Sanibel: sofas, chairs and mattresses go out with regular garbage.
- Unincorporated Lee County: picked up as needed; set out like garbage, within 6 feet of the road.
