Yes. A chest freezer's wide body and an upright's height create different doorway problems. Tell us where it sits and whether shelves, baskets or a separate freezer compartment are part of the load. We can carry it out of the garage or house.

Must the freezer be emptied and defrosted first?

Yes. Remove food, allow ice to thaw and contain the meltwater before collection. Tell us about spoiled contents or a freezer you cannot empty so extra work can be discussed in advance. Don't chip at ice with tools that could puncture the cooling system.

Does the refrigerant need to be drained before you take a household freezer?

No. Leave the sealed system intact. Household appliances can enter the disposal chain with refrigerant inside; the final disposer must ensure proper recovery. Leave the lines alone; we haul it with the sealed system intact.

Can I put a freezer outside for public collection?

Use the collection and child-safety preparation instructions for your address before setting it out. Keep children away from a discarded freezer. Can a working freezer find another home?

We remove unwanted chest and upright freezers, including carrying them out from the agreed location. Show us the freezer and the way out. A long chest beside a garage door needs a different plan from an upright behind a tight utility-room doorway.

Tell us about food, water, odors or damage before booking. An unused freezer may still be full; empty it before pickup. If opening it would be unsafe, leave it closed and explain the situation so we can discuss what needs to happen.

Show the footprint and the route out.

For a chest freezer, include the space around its long sides and the nearest doorway. For an upright unit, show overhead clearance, hallway turns and any stairs. A garage pickup can still involve steps, stored belongings or a vehicle blocking the loading route.

Mention whether it is a standalone household freezer or equipment built into cabinetry or a commercial space. A household example is not acceptance of every industrial unit. If the freezer moved into the room before shelving or a doorway changed, explain that too.

Empty and defrost the freezer before pickup.

Remove food and drink, and defrost and wipe out the freezer ahead of the appointment so melting ice does not become part of the carry. If spoiled food prevents that preparation, tell us before booking; emptying it is extra work that needs to be discussed and priced separately.

Keep the sealed refrigerant system intact. Do not cut lines, puncture the cabinet or drag the appliance out to prepare it. Show the doorway and parking route, including soft mobile-home floors, exterior steps or condo hallways that affect handling.

Check the replacement arrangement before booking twice.

A retailer supplying a new freezer may offer haul-away under its own terms. Ask what those terms cover, including placement and preparation. That can be a practical alternative when one replacement unit is the entire job.

If the freezer is usable, a recipient still has to agree to its condition and collection. Paid carry-out may be useful when access is the difficult part or the freezer is leaving with other household appliances. A refrigerator pickup has additional water-connection questions where applicable.

Give the estimate the details that affect carrying.

Include the freezer, any other items, stairs, doorway turns and distance to loading. Condo service-elevator and vendor arrangements belong in the initial request. We may ask for more views or a free walkthrough when photos do not explain the job.

We agree on the work and a written price before loading. If you add another appliance or reveal substantially different contents or access, we review the change before proceeding. For a remote property, provide written removal permission, access arrangements and a reachable contact; completion photos can document the agreed cleared area.
