Two tables that seat six can require very different handling. One may have a removable wooden leaf; another may have a heavy stone top or a fragile glass panel. Tell us what the top and base are made from, not just how many chairs fit around them.

Fort Myers Junk Removal reviews the table, any matching furniture and the route out together. You do not need to lift the top or tip the table over to request an estimate. Photograph visible joints and attachments only where they are accessible.

Planning your dining table removal

Top material, base construction and separate dining pieces determine handling.

Before pickup
  • Clear the tabletop and identify leaves, chairs and benches that leave.
  • Disclose chips, loose glass, damaged legs or a stone top.
Where it is and how to reach it
  • Room to work around the base and the doorway beyond it.
  • Stairs, turning space and the carry to the loading point.
Useful photos
  • Whole table and separate chairs, leaves or benches.
  • Top material, visible attachments and the exit route.
What affects the quote
  • Glass or stone handling, base disassembly and total piece count.
  • Stairs, restricted turns and the distance to loading.

Show how the top relates to the base.

Tell us whether the top appears fixed, rests on a separate base, or contains removable leaves. Include the approximate dimensions if known. A stone or marble top needs a separate review; a light-looking pedestal does not tell us what the top weighs.

Do not lift heavy glass or stone to demonstrate the attachment. Point out existing cracks, chips or loose sections in photos. Damaged furniture needs its own handling discussion rather than the assumption that separating the top is a safe customer preparation step.

The matching cabinet is a separate item.

Count chairs and benches, and show any buffet, hutch or china cabinet leaving with the table. Empty drawers and cabinets first. If contents are also going, identify and box them separately so they are part of the estimate instead of an unexpected load inside the furniture.

Glass shelves and doors in china cabinets require separate handling. A dining-room photo can hide those parts behind closed doors. The broader furniture-removal guide helps with a mixed room rather than a single table.

Planning the way out

Ordinary leg or base disassembly can help a table pass a doorway, but the top still needs space to turn. Show the route through the house and any steps, narrow hallways or screened doors. For an upstairs dining area, include landings and stair condition.

A customer does not need to put the table outside before pickup. If it is already in a garage or driveway, say so: the amount of carrying is different. Do not move a heavy or unstable table solely to reduce the estimate.

Decide whether removal or a new owner is the goal.

If you want to preserve an antique or a valuable dining set, arrange valuation or a confirmed recipient before authorizing disposal. A furniture appraiser can tell you what it’s worth, and each charity decides whether to accept a particular set. Condition, demand and timing affect a recipient’s decision.

Removal is not transport to another home with reassembly. If the table is leaving as part of a downsizing plan, identify the moving items separately using the senior-downsizing guide. The written removal instructions should make those destinations clear before work starts.
