Built-In Cabinet Removal
We tear out built-in cabinets, bookcases, desks, entertainment walls and laundry or garage cabinets, and haul them away in the same visit.
We tear out built-ins (bookcases, wall units, built-in desks, entertainment walls, window seats, laundry and garage cabinets) and haul them away. If you’ve already taken them apart, we just haul the pieces.
Built-ins are screwed to studs, sometimes glued, and sometimes framed into the wall. Send photos of the whole unit, where it meets the wall, floor and ceiling, and any lights, outlets or plumbing in it.
Factory cabinets or site-built
Some built-ins are factory cabinets screwed to the wall, which come out in boxes. Others are site-built from plywood and trim, scribed to the wall and caulked in, and come out in pieces. A big entertainment wall or bookcase may be several units joined together behind one face frame. Photos of the edges, the top and the inside of one cabinet tell us most of what we need.
Lights, outlets and plumbing come first
Built-in lighting, outlets, data and speaker wiring, and any plumbing (a wet bar, a laundry sink) are disconnected by a licensed trade before tear-out. Tell us what’s in the unit and whether it’s been disconnected.
What’s left when it’s gone
Factory units leave screw holes and a paint line. Site-built units leave caulk lines, cleat marks and often an unpainted patch of wall and an unfinished strip of floor, because the flooring was run up to the cabinet. That’s finish work for your contractor; plan it before the cabinet comes out.
Reuse depends on condition
Habitat’s ReStore accepts kitchen and bathroom cabinets, islands and vanities with their doors attached; countertops only with matching cabinets, and not granite or marble. Site-built units rarely come out in a reusable form. If reuse matters to you, tell us before tear-out so the boxes come out whole.
What changes the price
The size of the unit, how it’s attached, whether it has stone or glass, what’s wired into it, and how far it travels to the truck. Upstairs units, elevators and long carries add time. See how pricing works, and see kitchen cabinet removal if the kitchen is going too.
Curbside rules for built-in cabinet differ across Lee County
- Cape Coral: construction debris isn’t collected, and the drop-off site won’t take it.
- Estero: fewer than 2 cubic yards a week.
- Sanibel: up to 2 cubic yards per pickup if the work didn’t need a permit.
From each jurisdiction’s official collection pages, checked October 13, 2026. We carry it out from wherever it sits, anywhere in Lee County.
