We remove detached branches and limbs lying on the ground. Show their length, thickness and location so cutting for loading and the carry to the truck can be priced.
Detached and free of tension
Ground-level cutting of loose branches may be included to load them. Anything still attached to a tree, suspended or under storm tension needs a tree service first; once it’s on the ground, we cut and haul it. Keep clear of branches near power lines and arrange a tree service where needed before debris hauling. Describe other materials mixed into the pile.
Identify the thick wood underneath the leafy pile
Leaves can conceal a heavy forked limb or palm-trunk section. Describe those pieces as well as the overall spread of debris. Ground-level cutting for loading is different from releasing an attached or tensioned branch. For a pile dominated by cut rounds, log removal focuses on diameter, weight and rolling access.
Diameter and loading distance matter alongside pile size
A broad leafy pile can be lighter than a small stack of thick limbs. Long forks can catch at gates and require safe ground-level preparation, while steps or a narrow side yard increase carrying. Material still attached, suspended or near power lines needs the appropriate tree or utility work before hauling.

Where it can go in Lee County
If you’d rather handle some of it yourself, or it’s still worth giving away, these are the local options. Each organization decides what it accepts, so check with them before you load the car.
- In Lee County service areas, yard waste (grass clippings, tree limbs and branches, palm fronds, leaves, dead plants) goes out once a week in a container of 50 pounds or less, or tied in bundles no heavier than 50 pounds and no longer than 6 feet. The county asks you not to bag it: it’s shredded for mulch. Source: Lee County Solid Waste: yard waste
- For a large yard project that’s hard to containerize or bundle, Lee County says to call your waste hauler for a cost estimate. Source: Lee County Solid Waste: yard waste
