We remove portable generators once the fuel is out. Installed standby generators are a different scope and are not ordinary portable-equipment pickup.
Portable equipment only
Show the generator, known weight, wheel condition and the route to loading. Tell us about batteries, leaks or leftover fluids. Do not include fuel cans. Hardwired or installed equipment needs a licensed electrician to disconnect it first; then we take it out and haul it away.
A portable unit can still be too heavy for a casual lift
The frame may include a heavy engine, alternator and starting battery even when wheels are fitted. Leave it off and identify stuck wheels or handles. Separate fuel cans and retained extension cords. Battery-containing equipment has its own preparation; lead-acid batteries require separately arranged handling.
Weight and loading access matter more than the word portable
A small inverter unit and a large wheeled generator need different loading plans. Steps, soft ground, leaks and fuel preparation affect readiness. Dual-fuel cylinders need a separate route.
