Estate Cleanouts in Fort Myers, FL
In the City of Fort Myers, an estate cleanout is as likely to be an apartment or condo as a house: about a third of homes are in buildings of 10 or more units. That means elevators, loading areas and building rules to plan around. We clear what your family has decided can go, and we work with the building to schedule it. Text photos, call, or use the free estimate form to plan it.
Condos and apartment buildings
Ask the building manager which entrance, elevator and hours vendors must use, and whether the elevator needs to be reserved or padded. Tell us the floor, the distance from the elevator to the unit and where the truck can park. If your building or property manager requires a certificate of insurance, tell us when you book and we’ll arrange it. With your authorization we talk to the building manager directly, because we’d rather know the elevator and loading rules ahead of time than discover them with a crew at the door. Send the vendor rules with your photos by text, or call.
Send photos for a free estimate. Show each room or area that’s going, what stays, and the path to the door.
Older houses
About a quarter of the city’s homes were built before 1980, and an older house can hold decades of belongings in its attic, sheds and closets. Photograph the attic opening and any outbuildings along with the rooms, and tell us about steps at the entry. Pictures, letters and papers the crew comes across are set aside for the family. Text the photos or use the free estimate form.
What the City’s bulk pickup covers
The City’s Solid Waste Division collects up to 4 cubic yards of bulk a week and white goods weekly. For a family clearing a few pieces over several weeks, that can help. For a full apartment or house on a deadline, we carry everything out in one visit, or in separate visits if the family is still deciding. The Fort Myers pickup guide has the City’s rules. Call or text when you’d rather have it all carried out in one trip.

How we handle an estate
- Your family doesn’t have to be here. A lockbox, realtor, property manager or local family member can handle access, and photos, video, calls and texts cover the decisions.
- One decision-maker approves the work. Start by marking the definite keeps with colored tape, sticky notes or one keep room the crew leaves alone.
- Start with the rooms that are ready. Rooms the family hasn’t decided on stay out of the job, and we come back for them as a separate visit when you’re ready.
- Cash, jewelry, photos, papers and keys are set aside for the family. Medications are kept separate, and if we find a gun or ammunition, we stop and call whoever is in charge of the estate.
- Usable things go to local donation outlets that accept them, metal and appliances are recycled, and the cleared areas are left broom-clean.
- You get the price before anything is loaded, progress updates as we work, before-and-after photos when they’re needed and a clear invoice.
