The sale may be over while some of the furniture is still waiting for its buyer. Before we collect the unsold remainder, separate those purchases from family keeps and the things you want removed. It’s worth one last walk through the rooms together.

Send fresh photos after the sale and collections. We can help with the remaining lifting and haul-away, and we remove what the person who hired us authorizes.

Planning your post-estate-sale cleanout

Removal after the sale, once sold pieces and family keeps have been collected.

Before pickup
  • Separate sold-but-uncollected pieces and family keeps from unsold contents.
Where it is and how to reach it
  • Sale-company access handover, keys and the final collection schedule.
Useful photos
  • Current room views after the sale and clearly marked exceptions.
What affects the quote
  • Remaining volume, sorting under direction and additional approved areas.
Who can approve the removal
  • One authorized person releases the final remainder after buyer and family exceptions are resolved.

The authorized person should reconcile the sale company’s collection list with the family’s keep instructions. Mark purchased items to stay until their collection is resolved. A sale ending does not authorize us to discard property promised to someone else.

If instructions change during loading, pause the affected items and obtain a clear decision. The crew does not arbitrate buyer disputes or competing family directions.

The post-sale load may differ from the original house.

Send current pictures of rooms, closets, garage and any storage included. Small objects or dense boxes can remain after the large furniture sells. Identify personal papers and photographs separately; they do not become waste because the sale company left them behind.

A previous house-wide estimate is not automatically the price of the remainder. We agree on the current work and price in writing before removal. If it changes substantially, we get written approval before doing extra work.

What to do with what didn’t sell

If a charity or another buyer is collecting items, confirm acceptance and timing first. The charity or buyer decides on acceptance, receipts and any resale credit. For potentially valuable pieces, antique-furniture planning keeps valuation separate from hauling.

The estate-cleanout guide covers the broader service. Help with inherited property is useful when relatives and the approving owner are working remotely.
