Antique Furniture Removal Planning · Fort Myers & Lee County
Settle value before authorizing removal.
Decide on appraisal, family collections and intended disposal before arranging antique furniture removal. Hauling does not establish value or guarantee donation.
An old cabinet may be unwanted to one person and important to another. Before arranging disposal, decide whether the piece needs valuation, family collection or a confirmed buyer. Fort Myers Junk Removal does not appraise furniture, buy estates or choose which pieces are valuable.
This guide supports those decisions before the ordinary furniture-removal process. It is not an antique-moving or conservation service.
Planning your antique furniture removal planning
Potential value changes the release decision; construction still controls handling.
- Before pickup
- Arrange any valuation and family decisions before release.
- Empty compartments and mark furniture that stays.
- Where it is and how to reach it
- Fragile parts, stairs and space around the item.
- Useful photos
- Complete piece and existing damage without moving fragile parts.
- What affects the quote
- Agreed removal work and handling; no assumed credit for resale value.
- Who can approve the removal
- Resolve family ownership instructions before releasing the item.
Keep appraisal separate from the hauling quote.
If you suspect value, consult an appropriate appraiser or estate-sale company before authorizing disposal. A removal price describes the work, not a valuation of the object. Any salvage value is separate from the removal price.
A charity or buyer also has to agree to condition, collection and timing. Donation is not guaranteed merely because an item appears usable or old.
Mark disputed pieces to stay.
Use a keep area or clearly marked photo list and one authorized decision-maker. If relatives disagree, resolve that before removal. The crew does not decide ownership or discard a piece to meet a deadline while instructions conflict.
Check drawers and compartments for records, photographs or keepsakes. Personal belongings found during work are flagged for instructions; the removal crew is not the family’s appraiser.
Age does not describe the exit route.
Tell us about loose joints, mirrors, glass, heavy tops and previous damage. Do not drag a fragile cabinet into the driveway to make pickup seem simpler. If it is meant to be preserved and transported to another home, arrange a suitable mover.
For an estate-sale remainder, post-sale cleanout planning helps separate sold-but-uncollected pieces from released contents. For a tall cabinet being discarded, the armoire guide addresses clearance and disassembly.
