A fully drained waterbed, its frame and storage pieces can be included in a removal. Before pickup, the customer must empty the mattress completely and unplug the heater. Once the mattress is fully drained, the crew carries it out.

Show the mattress, frame, headboard and drawers you want removed. If anything is staying for the new bed, mark it clearly before the old frame comes apart. Tell us about stairs and the space around the bed when requesting an estimate.

Planning your waterbed removal

Drained mattress plus heater and potentially substantial hard-side frame.

Before pickup
  • Have the customer’s waterbed completely drained and heater unplugged.
  • Empty drawers and identify bedding or components that stay.
Where it is and how to reach it
  • Bedroom route, stairs and space around a hard-side frame.
Useful photos
  • Whole frame, storage components and current preparation status.
What affects the quote
  • Taking the frame apart, all the pieces included and stairs.
Connections
  • Heater unplugged and mattress completely drained before pickup.

Drain the water chamber, not just the visible surface.

A soft-side waterbed can resemble an ordinary mattress while containing a water chamber inside foam sides and upholstery. A hard-side bed holds the bladder within a wooden frame. Both need complete drainage and the heater unplugged before pickup; residual water adds weight and spill risk.

Arrange appropriate help if you do not know how to drain your model safely. Identify the bladder, liner, heater and foam pieces being removed, without cutting the chamber to empty it into the room.

Pedestals and decking can make up most of the remaining load.

A hard-side frame may include substantial side rails, a platform, pedestal panels, drawers and a large headboard. Once the water is gone, those components still need ordinary furniture dismantling and carrying. Empty storage and mark any pieces you are retaining.

Frame construction, storage components and stairs affect the estimate. A soft-side mattress enclosure on a simple base differs from a large drawer pedestal. Reassembling retained furniture or adapting a headboard for the new bed is separate from removal.

Out with the old bed

The job removes agreed components and leaves the work area broom-clean. It does not install a new bed, repair flooring or reconnect equipment. Include other bedroom furniture only if it is intended to leave at the same visit.

For ordinary frames and powered bases, see bed-frame removal. A bedroom-set guide helps separate the old bed from mirrors, cabinets and keepsakes.
