We remove unwanted countertop and personal-care appliances, from coffee makers and toasters to blenders and similar household devices. Gather the units that are leaving with their own loose parts, and distinguish ordinary plug-in appliances from connected equipment.

Cool, empty and identify each appliance

Unplug appliances, let them cool and remove food or water before pickup. Keep lids, bowls, trays and power supplies together so an intended reuse item stays complete and loose pieces are easy to handle.

  • Keep blender blades and other sharp attachments visible and contained, not loose at the bottom of a bag.
  • Identify cracked glass or broken parts before handling.
  • Separate a device with a rechargeable battery, fuel or an unusual connection from ordinary plug-in kitchen items.

One countertop can hold several different removal jobs

A coffee maker with an empty carafe is different from a plumbed-in appliance, and a compact microwave can be considerably heavier than the gadgets beside it.

Loose plug-in appliances

Group released units together after ordinary unplugging. Do not dismantle sealed appliances or remove a damaged battery to make them look ready for pickup.

Connected or mounted equipment

Built-in, hardwired or plumbed equipment needs the appropriate disconnection before hauling. Identify those connections and attachments instead of treating an installed unit as a loose countertop appliance.

Keep a complete working appliance separate from broken units

A recipient needs the actual model, condition and essential parts to decide whether an appliance is useful. Check recalls and the recipient’s rules before offering a unit for reuse. Broken or recalled equipment should not be slipped into a usable donation group.

If you are clearing the kitchen, include unwanted cookware and dishes as separate contents, with sharp or fragile pieces identified.

Appliance count, weight and loose parts affect the load

Several lightweight gadgets make a different load from heavy mixers and multiple microwaves. The combined volume, fragile or sharp parts, stairs and the carry from kitchen or storage affect collection. Identify larger appliances separately so their size and handling do not disappear inside a description such as “a box of kitchen stuff.”

Where it can go in Lee County

If you’d rather handle some of it yourself, or it’s still worth giving away, these are the local options. Each organization decides what it accepts, so check with them before you load the car.
