We remove unwanted radios, receivers and loose audio equipment. Show portable sets separately from large console cabinets, and identify batteries or power connections before pickup.

Portable sets and cabinet radios

Unplug ordinary cords and remove personal items from storage compartments. Do not hide loose batteries in the radio or another container; battery type and condition need review. A large wood console is also a furniture carry-out, so include its depth, weight if known and exit route.

A floor console can conceal records and furniture weight

Open ordinary storage to remove records, tapes and keeps before the console leaves. A receiver and a large wooden cabinet are not the same carrying job. Battery compartments also need condition identified without disturbing leakage. Separate audio equipment can include speakers and amplifiers stored elsewhere in the room.

Cabinet construction matters more than the radio controls

A portable radio is a small item; a wooden floor console can be long, deep and heavy. A record-player assembly, loose lid and glass panels add components to support. Stairs and narrow turns affect the furniture carry. An electronics-only receiving option may not cover the surrounding cabinet.
