Loose area rugs and runners can be included in household removal. Tell us the approximate dimensions and whether a rug pad is also leaving; fitted carpet removal is a separate job.
Condition before rolling
Disclose dampness, odors, pests or contamination before preparing the rug. Do not roll up or move a very heavy rug just to estimate it. Show the rug where it lies, furniture that blocks access and any separate padding. We can agree on handling without treating a concealed condition as ordinary dry household material.
Lift the room off the rug before rolling it
A rug trapped under a bed or dining set cannot leave until those pieces are moved or lifted. Tell us which furniture is staying so the work is limited to freeing the rug and pad. Loose rugs differ from fitted carpet, which may involve perimeter fixings and separate padding. Leave adhered backing in place rather than scraping the floor as preparation.
Pile, size and furniture above it affect the carry
A thick large rug can make a heavy, awkward roll; a runner is a much smaller load. A separate pad adds material, and furniture resting on the rug adds handling even if that furniture stays. Dampness can add weight and change containment. Describe the condition openly rather than rolling it tightly out of sight.
