Leave contained components in place unless the manufacturer's instructions and agreed pickup plan call for removal. Do not shake out filters or loose dust for the estimate. Equipment used around hazardous substances needs that history disclosed; household-appliance acceptance does not establish hazardous-material cleanup capability.
Identify a water tank or specialty use before packing
Some units combine air cleaning with humidification. Their water tank needs preparation as well as the filter housing. A household filter should stay contained; equipment used for hazardous dust is a different condition to disclose. A separate humidifier adds moisture, while a dehumidifier can contain a sealed refrigeration system.
Cabinet size and the number of units set the load
A small bedside purifier is a modest item; several floor-standing units with separate bases or reservoirs occupy more space. Stairs and lifting from storage affect the carry. Filter contamination can change handling, but ordinary household dust does not require opening the appliance or shaking filters clean for pickup.
