Hall trees combine several awkward shapes: tall backs, coat hooks, mirrors and sometimes a storage bench. Show the whole unit and the hallway around it so the exit can be planned.
Check the bench and wall connection
Empty bench storage and remove coats, bags and other keeps. Identify mirrors, projecting hooks and any wall attachment. A unit assembled in a narrow entry may need ordinary disassembly to leave it; wall-mounted or built-in pieces need a separate scope review. Include known dimensions without tipping the hall tree over.
Work from the hooks down to the shoe storage
A tall back with hooks or a mirror can catch at the entryway turn even when the bench is compact. Clear hanging bags, cubbies and the storage lid before the unit moves. Leave anti-tip fixings secured until the upper section can be supported. A separate mirror should be identified rather than assumed to be part of the wooden frame.
Height and projections set the exit path
Hooks, a high back and bench depth create an awkward shape to rotate in a narrow hall. Ordinary bolted sections may separate, while a one-piece unit must leave at full size. Mirrored panels, wall attachments and stairs add work beyond the floor space the bench occupies.
