Awning and Patio Cover Removal

We take down awnings and patio covers and haul them away, from fabric awnings to aluminum covers. How it’s attached to the house decides the scope.

We take down awnings and patio covers and haul them away: fabric awnings on a frame, aluminum pan and insulated-panel covers, and wood-framed covers. If it’s already down, we just haul it.

How the cover is built and how it’s attached to the house decides the scope. If the job is larger or awkward, we bring or arrange the equipment it needs.

Not every cover is the same job

A fabric awning comes off its frame, and the frame unbolts from the wall. Aluminum pan and insulated-panel covers come apart panel by panel, then the beams and posts. Wood-framed covers come down member by member. A cover that is tied into the house’s roof framing or carries part of the roof is structural; that part needs a licensed contractor, and we can take down everything else and haul it.

Where it meets the house

Most patio covers attach with a ledger board or brackets on the wall or fascia. Taking them off leaves fastener holes and sometimes flashing to repair, which is finish work for your roofer or contractor. Lights, fans and outlets in the cover are disconnected by a licensed electrician first. A screen enclosure attached to the cover is part of the same job; include it in the photos. For a freestanding structure, see pergola removal.

After a storm

Storm-damaged covers can be twisted, partly down or under tension. Don’t pull on a cover that’s hanging. Photograph it from a safe distance, and if it’s blocking a door or leaning on the house, tell us that up front. For the public debris rules after a storm, see our storm debris guide.

What changes the price

The size and material of the cover, how it’s attached, whether the posts are set in concrete, what’s wired into it, and the access around the house. Posts set in concrete footings come out differently from posts on brackets, and we haul loose concrete once it’s broken out. See how pricing works and our light demolition page.
